After a pause because of the COVID Pandemic, the Friars were delighted to welcome everyone back in person to Night of Stars at SECOND FLOOR in New York City on March 21, 2022!
The evening featured performances by Broadway’s Jason Tam (Be More Chill, If/Then, "Jesus Christ Superstar Live"), Christy Altomare (Anastasia, Mamma Mia!), Samantha Williams (Caroline or Change, Dear Evan Hansen), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Phantom of the Opera, On the Town, Hands on a Hardbody), and Katie Ladner (Wicked, Sunset Boulevard), and was directed again by Emmy Award-winner Lonny Price (Sunset Boulevard, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, 110 in the Shade, "Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened") and musically directed by Joseph Thalken.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Night of Stars raised over $600,000 for our Franciscan Ministries!
Night of Stars 2019
After a wildly successful premiere event in 2018, the Franciscan Friars presented our second annual Night of Stars at SECOND FLOOR in New York City on September 30, 2019!
The evening featured performances by Broadway stars Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess, Les Miserables, "Jesus Christ Superstar Live”), Whitney Bashor (The Bridges of Madison County), Alexander Gemignani (Carousel, Sweeney Todd), Alysha Umphress (On the Town, American Idiot), and Taylor Iman Jones (Scotland PA, Groundhog Day). The evening was once again directed by Emmy Award-winner Lonny Price (Sunset Boulevard, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, 110 in the Shade, "Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened") and musically directed by Grant Sturiale.
